We plan to be at WDW mid April 2016 - and wondered if there are flag raising/retiring ceremonies or other specific activities for military members or retirees?

    Hi, Dona!
Thanks for reaching out to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort hold a Flag Retreat ceremony each day at 5:00 PM each day. It is a very special ceremony that gives me chills each time I attend. The service takes place at the entrance to Main Street U.S.A. with members of Walt Disney World Resort Security, and there is usually, at least, one guest chosen to participate.

I highly recommend taking the time to participate at least once during your vacation!

Let me know if I can help answer any additional questions before your big visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

I’m a mom, wife and goldendoodle dog owner who is not afraid to ride a fast roller coaster again and again. I love to travel - which is good since I telework with a job in Washington, DC. I’ve visited Disneyland and Walt Disney World multiple times and it’s fed into my belief that you’re never too old to have fun. I run when I can and recently earned my runDisney Coast to Coast medal! I also love photography and founded an online special needs community. Learn More About Jen
