Hi...I plan to visit on 11th and 12th May with my 5 year old son who is a Mickey and friends fan. Please suggest an itinerary for 2 days.

Hiya, Harsha! I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney!

It sounds like you're getting ready for an unforgettable adventure to Walt Disney World with your little one! Five is such a magical age – he's sure to be absolutely thrilled the moment you arrive. Let's dive into planning so you'll be waving to Mickey in no time!

Since your son is a big fan of Mickey and his pals, I definitely recommend making a breakfast reservation where he can meet them. When my boys were that age, their favorite was Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. Character breakfasts are such a great option – you get to enjoy a delicious meal while the characters come to you, which means no long lines and plenty of magical moments!

Now comes the fun but sometimes tricky part of planning: deciding to split your time between two different parks or dedicate both days to Magic Kingdom. Since your visit is just two days long, and considering how much your son loves Mickey, I'm leaning toward the idea of spending both days at Magic Kingdom.

Here's why: Magic Kingdom is packed with attractions, entertainment, and experiences that are perfectly tailored to younger Guests, especially those who adore Mickey and his friends. With so much to see and do, it can easily take more than one day to fully enjoy everything without feeling rushed. By spending two days there, you'll have the flexibility to take breaks, repeat your son's favorite rides, catch shows and parades, and really soak in all those magical moments without feeling like you have to cram it all into one day.

Of course, the other three theme parks each offer their own unique experiences, but for a first-time visit with a 5-year-old, two days at Magic Kingdom might be the perfect recipe for a relaxed and truly magical time.

Another helpful tip to consider is to purchase Lightning Lane passes to help you save time and avoid long waits for popular attractions. If you're staying at a Disney Resort, you'll have the added perk of being able to purchase and make your preselections up to 7 days before your check-in date. Otherwise, you're welcome to purchase 3 days before your park visit.

Harsha, I know the planning process can feel overwhelming, but I hope this information has helped lay a solid foundation for your visit. If you find yourself with more specific questions – like which attractions are perfect for your son's age or which snacks are absolute must-tries – please reach out again. I'm all ears!

    See ya real soon!
