We plan to visit the MK next August on Sunday or Monday. Sunday will be a day with Extra Magic Hours and Monday is one of the busiest day of the week : what would be the less crowded day ? Monday or Sunday ? Thank you for your help !

Hi Myriam! Like you, I'm always trying to determine the best days to visit the Disney parks to avoid waiting in long lines. I've generally found that the time of year you visit contributes more to the attendance levels than a particular day of the week. You don't mention in your question when in August you're visiting Walt Disney World. Early August tends to be busier than late August since many children return to school in mid-August, so the later in the month you can time your visit the better.

You generally won't see a huge difference in park attendance between Sunday and Monday. If you're staying at a Disney resort, the Extra Magic Hours are a great perk; you can usually experience lots of attractions with little waiting during those hours set aside for Disney resort guests. For this reason, if you're staying at a Disney resort, I recommend you visit on Sunday and use the Extra Magic Hours to experience the most popular attractions, which will leave you plenty of time to explore the rest of the Magic Kingdom that day. You're right that Disney resort guests tend to migrate to the park hosting Extra Magic Hours, which can make that park more crowded, so if you're not a Disney resort guest who's able to take advantage of those hours, then I would recommend that you visit the Magic Kingdom on Monday instead.

You might want to check out the Crowd Calendar on the unofficial website www.TouringPlans.com. It predicts attendance levels in the Disney parks for the entire year, and you may find it helpful in planning your schedule.
