We plan to visit Disney torwards New Year's Eve, which is the best park to visit that day, any pointers? Also, when do they take down the Xmas lights, wouldn't want to miss those?

    Maria,

New Year's Eve at all the four parks are pretty entertaining. I love them all, but there are some reasons to pick one over another.

While the Magic Kingdom is a classic favorite, I prefer Epcot. The World Showcase makes for a festive experience as you wander the pavilions and enjoy the night life. You don't even have to be in a restaurant, in fact it is better to be out and about on the water side walk, taking it all in. But what about the others?

    • Animal Kingdom is totally out. It typically is closed at 8 pm, so the fun ends early.
    • The Magic Kingdom is typically packed, to a point that I think it can lose some of the fun.
    • My very close second choice is Hollywood Studios. It also has a great night life, with lots of fun throughout several parts of the parks.
As to your final question, I find most holiday lights start coming down a few days into the new year, so you should be able to see most of the holiday decorations.

BOTTOM LINE: Choose between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, with my recommendation being Epcot.

    Have a magical vacation!
