Hi! If I plan a vacation at a WDW Resort and then a Cruise which departs from Port Canaveral, is there transportation from the resort to the port? If yes, how much does it cost and do I have to book it in advance? Thanks a lot!

Welcome aboard, Patricia! One of my family's favorite vacations is a Land and Sea trip with Disney! We love spending a few days in the Walt Disney World Resort before we set sail on the high seas with Captain Mickey and his crew! I highly recommend a surf and turf vacation for your family, Patricia!

Disney Cruise Line does offer ground transfers from the resorts at Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral. They also offer ground transfers to and from the Orlando International airport and Port Canaveral. Currently, these ground transfers cost $35 per person each way and can be pre-booked with Disney Cruise Line. If you haven't yet booked your cruise, but plan on doing so, just go ahead and include the ground transfers as part of your reservation when you initially book, and you'll be all set!

The night before you set sail, you'll receive a notice in your Walt Disney World Resort room that lets you know exactly what time your luggage will be picked up from your room the next morning (usually around 8:00 a.m.), and what time you will need to meet the motorcoach at your resort (anywhere from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). They make it so easy by whisking your luggage away early for you so you can enjoy the resort for the rest of the morning with only your day bags. Then, relax on the motorcoach for the hour long trip to the port where you then board the ship and begin your cruise! Your luggage will meet you in your stateroom later that afternoon.

Letting Disney take care of the details makes your transition from land to sea and back so stress-free and easy, Patricia. Have fun planning, and please stop back if we can answer any other questions about your cruise with Disney!
