I want to plan a vacation with my grandchildren and am overwhelmed about where to start. Should I look at rooms first? The standard offers are either not in my time frame or the number of dates is not what I want. Where do I go to customize what I want?

    Dear Donna,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I totally understand how overwhelming it can be to start planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation at first!

You are asking how to get started with inputting your dates to look at rooms. I recommend that you start at the main homepage of the Walt Disney World Resort, where at the top you will see a lightened area that says "Price Your Vacation" on the left, and then gives you space to input your desired dates, number of people traveling, and what hotels you would like to consider. If you don't yet know which hotel best suits you, you can have the search engine look at all resort hotels for you.

Once you click on "Find Prices," you will then see a number of hotels and prices populate for you. You can sort according to cost, name, location, or "Disney's Picks." I recommend that you start there. Once you choose your hotel, you can then choose the tickets that you will need for your whole party.

Moms Panel Tip: If you plan on only staying in one of the four Parks each day, a regular theme park ticket will be fine. If you plan on going to more than one of the four Parks each day, you will need to select the Park Hopper option for your tickets.

Hope that helped and that you have fun planning!
