We had a plan for our upcoming trip in October but now I have found out that Friday October 25th the FL schools have Teacher's Day. Can you advise if this will therefore be an unusually busy weekend and if we should avoid Typhoon Lagoon on the Friday?

Hi Aymara! I always like to plan my Walt Disney World vacations during less crowded times of year too. October is generally a fantastic month to visit Walt Disney World. Park attendance levels are generally low to moderate during October, and you can attend fun events like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

I like to check the Crowd Calendars on unofficial websites like TouringPlans.com and EasyWDW.com prior to my Disney vacations. Those sites use factors like school holidays, special events, and historical attendance levels to try to predict crowd levels in the Disney parks each day. Both of those websites are predicting only moderate attendance at Disney World on October 25, so I wouldn't expect the parks to be unusually crowded that day. That weekend is not expected to be significantly more crowded than the rest of the month, and attendance levels will be quite low compared to busy times like the summer and Spring Break.  I did notice a few of the parks extended their hours that Friday, but that just means you have more time to enjoy them.  A weekday in late October is a great time to visit the Disney water parks. Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 25.

Wishing you a wonderful visit in October! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
