I want to plan a trip but the time frame isn’t available, my 25 wedding anniversary is November 2023 and I would like to spend a week staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge with my husband, I need to plan as far out as possible since we have a fixed income

    Howdy Teesha!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney, where we love helping Guests like you round up answers to their vacation questions. It sounds like you are ready to blast off to infinity and beyond, planning your 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World Resort in 2023. I believe that it is never too early to start planning for your next Disney vacation. The longer you have, the more time you will have to set a budget and to save.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is the perfect resort for a special celebration, with incredible African theming throughout the resort, excellent restaurants, and breathtaking views of animals roaming the savannas.  I highly recommend making a mock vacation package for different dates (since your desired dates are not available yet), choosing the resort room, length of stay, and theme park tickets. I would search in November 2022 since those dates are currently available, and it is the same time of year you plan to visit. This search should give you a ballpark idea of the cost of the room and your theme park tickets.

You can then look at other expenses you are likely to incur during your stay, such as your dining expenses. I like to look at current menus for restaurants I would like to dine, pricing out the approximate cost of each meal. You can then estimate how much you will likely spend each day on food. The Disney Dining Plans are a great way to budget food costs in advance. Though Dining Plans are not currently available, I hope to see them return sometime soon.

When I plan a Walt Disney World vacation, I try to grab Disney Gift Cards here and there, whenever I can, spending a small amount, but allowing it to add up over time. I ask for Disney Gift Cards for any celebrations, such as my birthday.  You can stash those Disney Gift Cards away and use them to book your vacation package once it becomes available!

I hope this information helps you begin your vacation planning journey to The Most Magical Place on Earth! You've got a friend in us here at planDisney, so stop back by any time we can help answer your vacation questions.
