    We want to plan our trip for December 27-January 1 and stay at the Contemporary but it doesn’t seem to have availability. Will Disney be opening up more of the hotel by then?

    Hiya, Leah!

    Oh Leah, there is almost no place better to stay than Disney's Contemporary Resort. Something about being able to see the Magic Kingdom from your balcony really makes you feel like you have arrived home. 

    I just returned from a springtime vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth and I could not get over the view. If there are no rooms available at the Contemporary, have you looked at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort? We stayed in a 1-bedroom villa just the other week and it was so wonderful not only having access to all of the wonderful amenities of the Contemporary Resort but having a few extra amenities exclusive to guests of Bay Lake Tower. Most importantly, we were still able to walk to the Magic Kingdom and were the third people to enter the Magic Kingdom that day!

    If you are unable to snag a reservation at either property, I suggest that you make an alternate reservation at a different Disney Resorts Collection property. Up until 31-days before your check-in, you will be able to move your reservation to Disney's Contemporary Resort if anything becomes available. So keep checking! 

    Leah, since Disney Park Pass system reservations are limited, I would recommend that you go ahead and secure your vacation package. 

    For a December stay, I would recommend that you book at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Something about the 5-story tree in the lobby, the rustic atmosphere, and roaring fires throughout the property screams Christmas getaway to me. You will also have super convenient boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom and all of the rooms were recently updated!
