I plan on staying at Pop Century Resort. I know that I can take a skyliner to Epcot and get a ticket to Epcot to go through and get a monorail to Magic Kingdom, but can I walk around Epcot without having to buy a ticket to the park?

    Tim,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Unfortunately no, you cannot walk through EPCOT to get to the monorail without using a valid theme park admission.

When you ride from Disney's Pop Century Resort to EPCOT, the Disney Skyliner drops you off by the International Gateway entrance. To get through to the EPCOT front entrance, where you can catch the monorail that would take you to the Magic Kingdom Park, you would have to enter EPCOT. That requires a theme park admission, and a theme park reservation. Then, of course, if you were planning to go to the Magic Kingdom you would have to have the Park Hopper option on your tickets, and it would have to be after 2 pm to enter. Frankly, it will be easier just to grab a bus from your hotel to the Magic Kingdom.

I know that is not the answer you were hoping for. But I will tell you that Pop Century has become one of my favorite resort hotel options at Walt Disney World, largely because of the Disney Skyliner. The speedy access to two theme parks really makes my days smoother and more enjoyable.

    BONUS TIP
While a bus ride to the Magic Kingdom may not be what you were dreaming of, Disney has been updating their fleet, so you will find them to be a great way to get around. Many now have USB charging ports placed throughout the bus for those cell phone battery emergencies!
