If we plan on running the WDW Marathon Weekend in 2023 (1/5-1/8) what will the decorations be like in the parks outside the runs (e.g. visiting the parks as a guest)? Will it be holiday decor still or will it change back to the 50th celebration decor?

    Hi Sarah!

I'm so excited to hear that you are running the Walt Disney World Marathon! I run the marathon every year and I absolutely love the run, visiting the parks afterward, and enjoying all of the yummy snacks and treats!

Typically, Walt Disney World keeps the Christmas decor up until the second week of January. Every year that I've run the Walt Disney World Marathon, I've been able to enjoy the holiday decorations in the parks! This past January, the Christmas trees were still up and decorated in all four of the Walt Disney World theme parks. There were Mickey Mouse wreaths, Christmas music, and Christmas merchandise in the shops.

I took an entire day of my vacation during this last trip to enjoy looking at all of the Christmas Trees in Disney Springs. The holidays at Disney Springs are so much fun! You also won't want to miss exploring the World Showcase at Epcot and all of the amazing holiday festivities. You can enjoy taking a cookie stroll, and eating delicious cookies around the world!

I hope you have a magical vacation!
    Magically,
    Stacy
