Hi there, Dana! We have one week to go before registration opens for the
2020 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can register as early as this Thursday)! I always tell myself that it takes "a little Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust" when I sign up for a runDisney race. This is a Disney Bucket List item for many runners, and I'd be happy to share my thoughts on how to make your
run-cation extra magical!
When my littlest Mouseketeer and I take our annual "Mommy and Son" trip during the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, I always use the
Disney recommended in-room sitter service called Kid's Nite Out. Sitters can be scheduled to come to your
Walt Disney World Resort hotel room as early as 3:00 AM, so you can get to your corral in plenty of time. In my experiences, the caregiver has always arrived right on time, and they sit quietly in the corner of the room with an e-reader tablet until my son wakes up (I always encourage him to sleep in on these mornings). I receive text messages with updates throughout the morning, which is very reassuring. By the time I get back to the room, he is usually finishing up breakfast and watching cartoons on the Disney Channel, happy as a clam! If you'd like more information, visit their website at kidsniteout.com or call (407) 828-0920.
Good luck with your training for the Disney Fairytale Challenge! I hope to see you out there running through Cinderella Castle in 2020!
