Rob,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Yes, when you use a rideshare to get from your hotel to the
Magic Kingdom Park, it does drop you off at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). This is the same place where those who drove their own cars and parked are delivered to hop on a boat or monorail to make the final trek to the magic!
From the TTC, you can take either a monorail or ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom.
But which is faster, the
monorail, or the
ferry boat? Officially they take the same amount of time, but in my personal experience you should opt for the monorail. It is about a 5 minute ride, and I usually find I spend about 5 minutes waiting in line. As anyone would assume, waiting times for either are going to be longer at peak park times, like at the end of the night or the start of the day. But the monorail is consistently a quicker option, and my family thinks it is an attraction unto itself.
So when you get out of your rideshare car, just hop in line for the express monorail to the Magic Kingdom. In a few minutes you will be at the front door of your magical escape!
BONUS TIP #1
Why then would I want to even consider the boat? Well, it is a very scenic and lovely, albeit longer, ride to the Magic Kingdom. You get great views (definitely photo-worthy!) of many of the Magic Kingdom area resorts, like
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It is also relaxing, and great ride if you have a child that needs some quiet time.
BONUS TIP #2If you see lines for either the monorail or the ferry boat backed way up as you approach their boarding areas, the smart move would be to switch to the other transportation option.
Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
