We plan to take "rest" days from the park. What are your favorite non-park things to do with kids age 10 & 3 ?

    Hi Shalasha,

Disney's four theme parks are definitely INCREDIBLE, but my family has found that the magic extends far beyond them. We, too, love enjoying Resort days, and I'd be happy to share with you some of our favorite things to do.

We all love sleeping in a bit on our Resort days, then enjoying the pool at our Disney Resort hotel and all of the fun recreational opportunities there. When you check in, be sure to ask for a Recreation Calendar because you'll find fun things like games, activities, and Movies Under the Stars offered by your Resort hotel that will keep Mouseketeers of all ages entertained. We also love taking a boat ride or monorail ride, so we'll simply use Disney's complimentary Resort transportation to travel around to the different Resort hotels. They're all so unique, and the attention to detail in their design, both inside and out, is incredible. Some of my favorites things to do at the Resort hotels are seeing Fire Rock Geyser erupt at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, visiting Cinderella's horses at the Tri-Circle-D-Ranch at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and discovering the beauty of African art, music, and wildlife at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Of course, a visit to Disney Springs, a Disney water park, or a Disney miniature golf course are always fun, too. We love to end our day by enjoying a delicious dinner and some street performers at Disney's BoardWalk.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shalasha. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
