I plan to purchase 5 military “salute” tickets for Disney World to visit in Feb with my wife (party of 2) — then a later visit in May with my sister’s family (4 total in party) — may I activate 2 tickets in Feb and the other 3 in May if present for both?

    Hi Mike,

Welcome to planDisney! One of the best parts of my role here is helping our heroes plan unforgettable Disney vacations. Thank you for giving me the opportunity.

OK, I have great news: I know it can seem a little complicated, but your plan will totally work!

Eligible Service Members can purchase and activate up to six Disney Military Salute Tickets in 2024. However, when you buy them from the participating US military sales outlet, you will stroll out of the building with a voucher. Sometimes they look exactly like the regular Disney theme park ticket cards. Other times, they are slips of paper. It varies based on the base or post.

Once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, simply visit the friendly Cast Members at any Guest Relations location to present your military ID and convert those vouchers into actual Disney theme park tickets. This is the "Activation." At that point, your friends and family are welcome to walk through those magical gates to begin their perfect Disney Days. A military ID will not be required again.

What that means for you, Mike, is that you could purchase all five of the Disney Military Salute Tickets that you need, convert them all at one time, and then use the two tickets that you need in February and the three needed in March without another thought!  Keep in mind that the "Activation" in this context does not begin the clock to use the days on your theme park ticket.

Mike, please remember that Theme Park Reservations are currently still required for your Disney theme park ticket type. To reserve your theme park access before your arrival, make sure to use the ID on each of your Disney Military Salute Ticket vouchers to link them to your My Disney Experience account. This ID remains the same even once they are activated. Then you can reserve your access to the wonder and excitement of the theme parks for each day that you plan to visit. Once you arrive at the theme parks, tap in to enter using a MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile Service, or the physical theme park ticket. The choice is yours!

I hope that was helpful, Mike. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your service.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
