I want to plan the perfect first time Disney World vacation for my granddaughters ages 6 and 4. Where should we stay and what parks should we visit that would excite them the most at their age? I would like to include park tickets and meal in our stay.

    Hello Rhonda!

My parents often travel with us, and I cherish those Disney moments of my mom riding Dumbo with my boys, or posing for a photo with Tinker Bell and my daughter. Walt Disney World is the perfect vacation destination for the entire family!

My four kids are ages 3 through 13, and there are attractions we look forward to in all four theme parks. If you will be staying for at least 4 or 5 full days, I would try to visit each park. For children, any trip to Walt Disney World should focus on the Magic Kingdom. Depending on your time and budget, you should plan a full day at Magic Kingdom, and two if possible. My second park recommendation would be either Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Epcot. Both offer plenty to enjoy, but I might choose Epcot because of the variety of attractions, and Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, a nightly fireworks spectacular.

By choosing a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you’ll be staying right in the heart of the magic, enjoy extra amenities and have the convenience of everything being linked with Magic Bands. Check out this musically fun video explanation! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort offers elaborately themed rooms and family suites, and is budget friendly. My kids recommend Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where a savanna view room means the you can step out on the balcony and wave to giraffes. If you’d like to be a short Monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom, my favorite is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Be sure to check out the Special Offers Page too, in case there are any special deals for your travel dates!

I hope this helps get you started Rhonda. Come back with more questions as you plan your exciting vacation.

    Wishing you a Disney Day!
