Ahoy Amanda!
Welcome to the Moms Panel! You have definitely come to the right place for help with your first cruise experience! It can be a bit overwhelming, but with the resources available, you will be surprised at how easily everything will come together! If you haven't already, be sure to order the
Free Cruise Planning DVD and check out all the fabulous
videos on the
Disney Cruise Line website.
The holidays are usually a more expensive time to sail so if you know you want to cruise at this time, I would definitely go ahead and book your cruise because the rates will go up as we move through 2013. With a holiday sailing, you will get to experience special events and activities and see the most beautiful decorations on the high seas! The characters will be dressed in their holiday finest, and Castaway Cay will be all decked out as well. The memories your family makes will be priceless and will be a holiday your crew never forgets.
Once you have nailed down your sail date, my advice is to think about what stateroom will fit your family and budget. Inside rooms are usually priced lower so this may be an area you can save money as well. Also, think about which seating time works best-First Seating is at 5:45 followed by the nightly show while Second Seating eats at 8:15 and sees the first show at 6:15. Port Adventures and on board experiences can't be booked until 75 days before sailing, so you have plenty of time to research these options later.
I hope I've helped, Amanda! Please keep the questions coming as you continue to plan because I'm always happy to assist future cruisers like you!
Happy planning!
Nancy
