Welcome to planDisney, John, and welcome to the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort! It looks like your magical vacation begins today, and I'm excited for you to enjoy the beginning of the
holiday season celebration at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Let's get right to your question so you'll be ready to tap into all the thrills and family-friendly adventures using your Lightning Lane Passes this week!
John, when using
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, all members of the party will have to scan into the attraction before becoming eligible to book a new attraction. While it's been years since my girls were toddlers and we used Rider Switch, it seems that because everyone will need to tap in, you will have to wait until the entire second group has redeemed their Lightning Lane Pass before you'll be able to book another experience.
One tip I think is worth sharing for this scenario comes from my panelist pal,
Jenn, who knows all the ins and outs of bringing younger kids to the parks. She recommends that whoever is the manager of the Lightning Lane Passes (in other words, whoever will be the one to book the next attraction) should ride with the first group; that way, once the second group taps in, that guest will be able to book the next experience while group 2 enjoys the ride.
John, keep in mind that procedures can sometimes change, so it never hurts to check in the
My Disney Experience mobile app once your first group checks in to see if you'll be able to book sooner. If not, just be ready to book your next adventure as soon as that second group taps in!
I hope this helps, John, and I hope you enjoy all the magic that's waiting for you with your family! If you have any other questions, we're always here to help at
planDisney! Come see us again real soon!
Magic and Memories,
Alison
