Hi Kimberly!
I was the leader of my daughter's Girl Scout Troop when she was younger and it was extremely fulfilling. I loved empowering young girls and helping them build their confidence.
With a motto like, "Be Prepared," it's apropos that you are planning ahead to be prepared for your trip! I am not sure how large your Girl Scout Troop is, but that will determine your best course of action. My Girl Scout Troop only had four girls, plus myself and a co-leader. With six people, we could have stayed in one of the family suites at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. These suites include a kitchenette, a master bedroom (with a queen-sized bed,) and a living space (with one double-sized bed and one double-sized sleeper sofa.) Another fun option for the girls would be staying at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Each cabin can sleep up to six adults and even has bunk beds! The girls in my troop absolutely loved staying in a cabin! This resort gives off a homey camp feel while being only minutes away from the Walt Disney World theme parks. The cabins also come equipped with a kitchen, outdoor grill, living space, and bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds. You can save money by making your own breakfast in the kitchen and grilling dinner at night. You can even head over to
Chip-n-Dale's Campfire Sing-a-Long to roast marshmallows over the fire.
If you have a larger troop and need 10 or more resort hotel rooms, you can contact (407) 939-1942 to inquire about a group rate. Group rates include hotel room blocks and, depending upon which package you book, may include discounts on theme park tickets. For more information, visit
Group Experiences.
I hope that you and your Girl Scout Troop have an amazing time!
Magically,
Stacy
