Hiya Caitlin!
I love babies, I loved being pregnant, and I love that you want to find out if you're getting a new Mickey or Minnie at the Most Magical Place on EARth! Now, let's talk about gender reveals.
There are a
bunch of super fun options at the 'World, and I think
Cinderella Castle is a fantastic backdrop for the reveal. You also have the bonus of the wonderful
Disney PhotoPass photographers being on hand to capture every magical moment. But, there's a bit of a "stitch" with your original plan. Unless you want the reveal to be at security, you cannot bring in a box of balloons. The same thing goes for popping balloons in front of the castle (and smoke bombs), also not allowed.
No worries though, we have plenty of fun alternatives! If you want balloons involved, you could have a trusted friend or family member purchase the
appropriate colored balloons. As you turn around in front of the castle, have them standing right behind
the photographer. That way, your surprise will be captured in real-time, and then you can take gorgeous photos with the balloons immediately after. You could also recruit one of the balloon Cast Members. Hand them your reveal envelope, and on the count of three, they can hand you a pink or blue balloon! There are always a few of them and Disney PhotoPass photographers on Main Street, U.S.A., so the set up should be relatively simple, and once again,
the castle will be in the background, and you'll have a bunch of balloons in the picture!
If you want the castle, but with an alternative, may I suggest
customized Mickey EARs? We recently stopped by The Chapeau on Main Street, U.S.A., to watch them personalize EARs. I think "it's a boy!" or "it's a girl!" would be a super cute announcement. Once again, no peeking when you hand over the envelope and when you pick up the EARs. Then once you're in front of
the castle with a photographer, open the surprise! A picture of you looking at
the castle with the EARs on will make the perfect Insta post!
For other amazing ideas with a sprinkling of pixie dust, contact the fantastic Cast Members at
Disney Meeting & Events. I'm convinced their motto is, "it's kind of fun to do the impossible." You can touch base with them online or at (321) 929-7129 if you want a reveal created from pure fantasy!
Caitlin, I wish you all the congratulations. Best of luck!
