How do i plan a disney vacation? I do not know where to even begin. My daughter is turning 6 in October and has asked to go to Disney for her birthday.

Hey, Cristina! Welcome and thank you for being here.

It's a daunting task to plan a Walt Disney World vacation, especially when it's extra special for your pint-sized princess' birthday. You can do everything on the Walt Disney World website, starting right at the top of the page, and we are here to help with every step.

First, give yourself a budget. That will steer you towards the type of accommodations you want. There are many options in the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, and they go from Value resorts to Deluxe Villa resorts. Start your search with the value resorts, then you can move up as your budget allows.

Once you know where you're going, what do you want to do? Check out the various ticket options, and figure out how many days you want to visit theme parks. With four parks, I always recommend you try to give each park a full day, but with a little one, you may need to do two days at the parks she loves. It's a lot of area to cover for kids.

As soon as your plans are set and your tickets or package is purchased, book your theme park reservations.  And now you've got the basics of your vacation planned! Dining reservations can be made beginning 60 days in advance, so you've got time for that.

I hope that helps get you started, Cristina! You could also use a Disney authorized travel agent in your area. There's usually no additional cost to work with an agent, and they can get you on the right track.
