Should I plan the days we visit each park around "extra magic hours" or do these times tend to be on the busier side? We will be vacationing late Sept. Thank you!

    Hi Jennifer,

Awww the Extra Magic Hours debate. Typically, the park with Extra Magic Hours does tend to be quite a bit busier than the other three parks. However, if your family members are early risers and you can be at the park gates and ready to go, the minute the park opens for EMH, this added feature for Disney resort guests is a great thing, We have found that we can often tackle all of Fantasyland, or a number of the thrill attractions at Animal Kingdom, in that first hour, If you are not able to be there from the very beginning, I would skip that park and visit it another day. Also, we have found that the best plan, is to leave the park with morning Extra Magic Hours prior to lunch and park hop (available with park hopper passes) to a different park. The crowd levels tend to increase at the EMH park as the morning goes on.

By arriving at the EMH park right at opening, enjoying as much as you can in the first hour or so and then heading elsewhere, you will be ahead of the incoming crowds and ready to enjoy more attractions.

Now if the question is over evening Extra Magic Hours, our family almost always chooses to stay and enjoy the few extra hours. Typically the park will continue to stay more crowded in that first 60 to 90 minutes, but the crowds do decrease a great deal, the later it gets. We have often enjoyed numerous attractions in that last hour before closing. we prefer to enter the park with evening hours, just prior to the start of the EMH.

    Wishing you an amazing time!
