Welcome to planDisney, Catt! I'm glad you found us because helping folks like you plan magical visits is what we're here for! I planned a visit for my sisters, nieces, and mother-in-law a few years ago, so I know exactly how you're feeling. Organizing a
Walt Disney World Resort visit is thrilling but can also be daunting. Sometimes taking that first step is the hardest, so let's start by looking at some options!
There are independent travel agents who specialize in visits to Walt Disney World Resort, so that is one way to go. I've never used a travel agent simply because I like to be in control of my choices and itinerary. But, Catt, I know you can do this on your own, so I'm going to focus on some next steps for you. There's no feeling like seeing the smiles on the faces of your family once you're there and knowing you were the one who made it all possible.
Your first assignment is to familiarize yourself with
My Disney Experience online. This easy-to-use planning tool will walk you through the steps of designing a practically perfect visit for your party. Then, when you're at the parks, you'll use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to keep track of your plans and make changes on the go. But now let's talk about making some reservations!
Walt Disney World is currently offering a
Disney Dining Promo Card when you book a 5-night stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel on select days starting this summer. This promo includes a complimentary dining card that could be used for meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the parks. If your party likes to wing it, you'd use the card to order meals at
Quick Service restaurants. You don't need reservations and can take advantage of
Mobile Ordering. You can also use the dining card at
Table Service restaurants, and I recommend making reservations for those meals at the 60-day mark.
I typically choose and book my resort first, and then I purchase
Theme Park Tickets. You can check
Theme Park Availability and buy tickets for as many days as you want to visit the four theme parks. For a seven-day visit, I'd recommend you plan a resort day or two to take it easy at your resort pool or maybe head to
Disney Springs for some shopping. Once you've planned a general itinerary, remember to make
Theme Park Reservations for each day you plan to visit a park.
Catt, we could also get into
Enchanting Extras like tours or activities that might be fun for you and your sisters, but we've got you off to a solid start. Please feel free to
come back to planDisney with all your questions. You've got a friend in planDisney!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
