How should we plan which day to go to which park? Should we plan around extra magic hours? We want to go to the Halloween party too. We will be there Oct 16-22

Hi there, Kimberly! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for stopping by and submitting another excellent Walt Disney World Resort question!

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort can definitively be overwhelming, particularly when it’s your first visit! There’s just so much to see and do during your vacation, it can be tough choosing between all the amazing offerings!

Whenever beginning to plan my own family’s trips, I start off by setting a specific “theme” for our vacation. This basically just means I identify our top priorities for our trip and base our plans around those. For instance, I had two objectives for our trip last October: eat as much good food as possible and find time to relax. This meant that I prioritized making advanced dining reservations and identifying relaxing activities during this trip. I am very pleased to say that we had a wonderful time relieving stress at Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and eating many unique dishes at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

I would take a similar approach to planning your own days in the parks! Are you a morning person? I would consider planning on visiting whichever park offers early morning Extra Magic Hours. Do you prefer to stay up late? You may want to enjoy attractions during the even Extra Magic Hour times. Find your own family’s unique preferences and create your vacation plan around those!

One last tip, I would also recommend planning to sleep in the morning following Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! This spooky event is bunches of fun and goes on late into the night so you and your family will likely be up a bit past bedtime. I love making either late breakfast or brunch reservations following special events! This way, you get to sleep in and treat yourself to a tasty meal after a night of fun!
