I plan on bringing my own double stroller. It's not a side by side kind but one where the kids sit one in front of the other. This makes the stroller kind of long, can I still bring it into the parks?

You'll see all kinds of strollers at WDW, including both side by side doubles and the longer front and back doubles. In the list of Frequently Asked Questions about the parks, found on the Disney website HERE, you'll see that there is an official prohibition against bringing strollers into the parks that are larger than 36" by 52". It does not specify which dimension must be the length and which the width.

Although there is an official size limit policy, I have NEVER seen anyone's stroller measured at WDW. I have been through the entrance turnstiles at the Disney theme parks many hundreds of times and have never seen a stroller denied entrance to the parks. If you stroller is one that is commercially available, I cannot foresee any problem with bringing it to the parks.
