Welcome, Tammy, and thank you for bringing this great question to planDisney. I’ll be your ghost toast – I mean,
ghost host – and would love to help navigate you through the spooky season at
Walt Disney World Resort!
One of my favorite activities during
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is spotting the variety of costumes that materialize once the party begins. While it's often grim-grinning ghosts that come out to socialize, you're sure to stand out and bring a smile to other Guests' faces as a piece of toast. I mean, who doesn't love breakfast? I reached out to a Cast Member who said that you should be able to happily enjoy the park as a piece of toast since it adheres to the
costume guidelines!
Tammy, you just need to make sure that your toast doesn’t hinder you from entering or exiting the ride vehicle and that the restraints can still close appropriately. For example, if you want to visit the
Haunted Mansion, you'll want to make sure you fit into your Doom Buggy – crust and all. You want your toast to be squishy enough to easily bend and have a lap bar close correctly, so the softer and more forgiving the material, the better. In toast terms: keep the bread lightly toasted for maximum movement. Butter should be fine. I’d recommend testing moving, sitting, and standing in your costume at home before you arrive.
However, if a Cast Member thinks it may be unsafe for that particular attraction, you might be asked to temporarily remove your toast during the experience. With that being said, I’d suggest wearing an equally fun and themed t-shirt underneath! I think an image of toast accouterment or other carbohydrate-related breakfast foods would work well, but I'll leave the details up to you. Just keep an eye on any friends that you ask to hold on to your costume while you ride – beware of hitchhiking toasts!
I hope you visit us again soon, Tammy! Please hurry back – we would like your company.
See ya real soon!
