I plan on attending for the Halloween event, and I would like to know if the park changes to their holiday decorations on November 1st?

    Cherish,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

I know you will have a spooktacular time at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! I am going next week, and I finally got my costume all in order.

The moment that the final party on October 31st ends, and as soon as guests leave the park, Disney's magic will fill the air. Ghosts and goblins will reluctantly start their way back to their lairs, awaiting their eventual return next year. As they leave, Santa's elves get to work transforming all you see from oranges and browns to reds and greens! The Magic Kingdom begins to transform from a family-friendly Halloween landscape into a winter wonderland that very night. Not every holiday decoration will be in place, but you will not be disappointed.

While the bulk of the Christmas decorations in the Magic Kingdom Park and other locations start going up right after Halloween, some do start sneaking in beforehand. But decorating 4 large theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs, and more than 2 dozen resorts does not happen overnight, even with some Christmas magic. The bulk of the Christmas decorations at the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be done by the end of the first week of November. EPCOT follows later in the month of November, typically after the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival ends. The resorts will mostly be done by mid-November as well.

My expectation is that you will see the Magic Kingdom fairly well decorated for Christmas on November 1, though there will likely be a few elements still to come. Most, if not all the visible Halloween items should be down as well. I think you will find that the holiday spirit will be ready to go. You are one of the lucky guests who will get to enjoy both seasons on one trip!

    BONUS TIP
Depending on how long your visit will be, you could even consider attending one of the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party events which begin on November 8th!

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow up questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
