Do the Pixar Pier carnival games take cash, credit cards, or Disney gift cards?

    Hi Kaylee!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question! Based on your visit date, I think a stop to enjoy the Games of Pixar Pier is an excellent idea because Pixar Fest will be going on while you're there. It'll be a chance to celebrate all things Pixar!

I recently had some time to myself while my kids rode the Incredicoaster so I went through and played all the games that are offered at Pixar Pier. I'd be happy to relay what I learned during my experience.

To answer your question, in order to play the Games of Pixar Pier, you may pay with either cash or a credit card. There are credit card machines at each stall, so you'll need to speak with a Cast Member if you'd like to pay with a credit card. If you want to use cash, there are token kiosks located in the middle of the Games that you can use to redeem for tokens. At this time, each token is $5 and each play requires one token (subject to change) per person. I did not specifically ask about Disney Gift Cards, but I would imagine that you would be able to use them as you would a credit card.

There are currently four games for you to enjoy:

    • La Luna Star Catcher: It's the shortest game (unless you're really indecisive) but if you want a guaranteed prize every time you play, this is your game! Take a fishnet and pick a floating star to catch. The color on the back of the star determines your prize. This is pure luck, but I once heard a Cast Member say that the "cleaner" stars are less caught, so perhaps look for that?
    • Heimlich's Candy Corn Toss: The "candy corn" are bouncy foam rubber, so I found it difficult to hit the target unless you have really good aim.
    • WALL-E Space Race: This is your water pistol game that used to scare me as a kid by popping balloons, but instead, you're propelling WALL-E and Eve higher and higher. You need at least two Guests to play. If everyone is from the same family, you know that someone will win a prize!
    • Bullseye Stallion Stampede: Skee ball type race game that requires multiple Guests. Aim for the center and sink the balls into a hole as quickly as possible.

While you're in Disney California Adventure, be on the lookout for Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! It looks really cool and I'm excited to see it myself later this year.

Kaylee, I hope you have a wonderful and magical time at the Disneyland Resort! Good luck with the Games of Pixar Pier and I wish you many prizes to take home as souvenirs. If you need anything else, please come on back anytime because we'd love to hear from you again! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
