    The Pirate and Pals Fireworks Cruise looks amazing. I have a concern though--my five year old does not like the loud noises tha accompany fireworks generally. How loud is it from the boat? Thanks!

    The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage is loads of fun!

    The fireworks are certainly much more muffled from the water than they are when you're right inside the park. They are, however, still fairly loud. You're only getting about a quarter of a mile further away from the booms than you would be if you were on Main Street.

    One of my daughters also does not like the sound of fireworks when we're up close, but she was OK from the distance of the boat. When you're on the boat, you don't feel like the ground is shaking. But I hesitate to make a recommendation for you without knowing the exact nature of your child's sensitivity. 

    I can tell you that many guests bring ear protection for their children who are sensitive to noises such as fireworks. This might range from the wax or foam earplugs that you can buy at the drug store, to your winter earmuffs, to specific noise-cancelling headphones. Often even the small barrier of drugstore earplugs is enough to deaden the most percussive sounds that rattle children. You might want to experiment with this at home (for example with earplugs and your stereo up loud) to see if this solution seems workable.
