Happy holidays, Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re starting off the season in the best way, with a
Very Merrytime sailing aboard the
Disney Magic. Clearly, you’re on Santa’s nice list this year!
Since you didn’t mention your exact itinerary, I’m guessing you’re on one of the 4- or 5-night sailings out of Galveston this December. Without your specific dates, I can’t say with 100% certainty, but it is very likely that your cruise will include a
Pirate Night. On most 4-night sailings, it typically happens on Night 3, and on 5-night sailings it will usually be on Night 3 or 4. Schedules can change due to weather or itinerary adjustments, but chances are very good that you’ll be able to hear Jack Sparrow shout “Yo Ho!” (and thank you for the reminder to pack my pirate outfit for my own December cruise)!
Once you’re onboard, the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will be extremely helpful for knowing the schedule for each day’s events. My friend and fellow panelist,
Dustin, taught me a fun trick. You can sometimes figure out your Pirate Night ahead of time by checking for “pirate makeover” availability at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Take a peek under Onboard Fun in your app once your booking window opens (which it most likely has). If Pirate Themed Makeovers appear, that’s usually a great clue as to which night you’ll be enjoying those fireworks at sea and having some swashbuckling fun.
On Pirate Night, you can also look forward to a special themed dinner in your assigned rotational dining restaurant, and your wonderful serving team will be dressed to match the festivities. It’s truly one of the most spirited nights on a Disney Cruise!
I HO-HO-Hope this helps you get excited for your upcoming adventure, Elizabeth!
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
