chEARs Allison!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited you are going under the sea to pick-a-pearl in
Japan! The pavilion is one of my favorites in the World Showcase. Between the food, shopping, and entertainment, my family and I can spend hours in there!
The experience is in
Mitsukoshi, the shop that extends the entire length of the pavilion and wraps around to the
Bitjutsu-kan Gallery. The gallery is a favorite place to stop and explore Japanese art. They have a charming exhibit that celebrates
kawaii - Japan’s “cute” culture - that I am sure your daughter will adore!
Anyhoo, back to your pearl! Once you unlock your treasure (my friend
Eean says that you should pick the ugliest, hairiest oyster - they produce the prettiest pearls!), you will have the choice of a variety of settings. The settings tend to start around $20 and go up from there. The majority are sterling silver and 14k gold (remember, prices and materials are always subject to change). I also am sensitive to metal (I can only wear pure gold, silver, or platinum), and I have a sterling silver necklace from there that I have been able to wear for 20 years!
When you are done with your
pearl experience, you and your daughter should try the
Disney Kidcot Puzzle Hunt. Download the
Play Disney Parks app and collect stamps across the World Showcase. The littles love the interactive games and art activities, and its a nice rest for the parents! The
Kidcot Fun Stops are honestly some of our favorite spots in
Epcot.
Allison, I hope your [clam] knows how to jam under the sea and produces a gorgeous pearl for you! Have a fantastic vacation.
