    Hello! Do photographers on the DCL use PhotoPass? I've heard that other cruise lines allow you to go online and make photo books from your cruise photos--does DCL do this? Can we buy a disc of our photos? Looking forward to capturing Disney memories!!

    Welcome back, Lisa! While Disney Cruise Line doesn't utilize the PhotoPass system as you experience it in the Disney Parks, there is a similar program on the ship.

    Photographers around the ship and with characters will scan your Key the the World Card, which will assign your photos to your stateroom account. Guests can stop by Shutters, the photography shop onboard, to check out their prints or view digitally all of their images. CD's are available for purchase, and can include 10, 20 or unlimited images. Prices vary based on number of images and length of cruise, so stop by Shutters the first day to find the price list for your particular itinerary. 

    If you know you'll be taking photos with as many characters as possible, as well as stopping for other photo opportunities, the unlimited CD can be worthwhile. We purchased the unlimited photo CD on our first cruise on the Dream, and have only purchased a couple individual prints on later cruises. We were so glad to have our first Disney Cruise memories compiled on that cd, but once we sailed a few times, found we didn't need every single photo. It's really up to you!

    Onboard, you have the option of creating a digital photo book by using one of the digital photo kiosks. However, once guests leave the ship, they are unable to access their photos, which is one major difference between the Disney Cruise photography and the Disney Parks PhotoPass. So, if you like the photos, buy them onboard, as that will be your only opportunity.
