Is there a petting zoo at Fort Wilderness? Some panelists say yes, one said no.

    Hi Donna,

Sorry for the confusion. In the past, there was a very small petting zoo at Fort Wilderness, located near Pioneer Hall. My children liked to explore there while waiting for our seats at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Unfortunately the petting zoo was closed about two years ago and the animals were relocated to the Affection Section at Conservation Station at the Animal Kingdom.

There are still pony rides as part of Fort Wilderness recreation. For a small fee, younger guests can take a guide led ride around stables during select hours. You can call Fort Wilderness directly at 407-824-2900 to get the pony ride hours in effect during the time of your visit.

Good luck with your planning and please let us know if you have additional questions.
