Can each person use their own credit card for booking a Disney resort hotel/ package or must it be booked under one account?

    Hi Debra!

Welcome to planDisney. It sounds like you have a magical vacation in the works and I'm happy to help as you make your reservations.

When it comes to booking a Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package only one credit card can be used per transaction. If you'll be sharing a resort room with a friend or family member you'll make the reservation under one booking and link the appropriate guests to the reservation. If you'll be staying in separate rooms you can each make a reservation using your own credit cards.

There are a few additional details I'd like to mention. First, if you happen to be making a room-only reservation, the first night is due at the time of booking with the balance due at check-in. If you are booking a room and ticket Vacation Package you can secure the reservation with a minimal deposit (currently $200) and make additional payments until the final balance is due 30 days before check-in. Just be sure you are connected with the members of your travel party via your Family & Friends list and that everyone is listed on the resort reservation.

Once your vacation package is linked to your My Disney Experience Account you can apply payments toward the balance with either of your credit cards online (1 per transaction) or over the phone with a Cast Member.

I have one extra tip before we part ways. If you plan to charge purchases back to your room, stop by the Front Desk when you arrive at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. There, Cast Members can assist with adding multiple credit cards to your reservation. This way, you can each use your MagicBand to make purchases at the resort and in the parks and have the correct charges linked to the appropriate credit cards. I did this when I visited with a friend in January and it saved us the extra step of figuring out who was responsible for what at the end of our vacation.

I hope this was helpful Debra! If we can answer any additional planning questions please don't hesitate to come back and see us again. You've always got a friend here at planDisney.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
