Hello Tine!
Welcome BACK to
planDisney! I love that you trust us to answer your Disney vacation questions. How exciting that you are asking a question about a
Mediterranean cruise with
Disney Cruise Line. My family set sail from Venice in 2014 and had the most incredible experience. It’s been more than 10 years since our last Mediterranean cruise, and I would love to return. I feel confident that you, too, will have an unforgettable experience.
I am happy to offer you information about the changes to the alcohol policy for European countries with lower drinking ages than the United States age of 21. Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and each port of call. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.
While you
must be 21 to bring alcohol on board the ship, there are exceptions to the
age policy for drinking alcohol while on board a Disney cruise ship. On Round-trip cruises departing any European country with a lower drinking age, parents and guardians may sign a Beverage Consent Form, allowing their 18- to 20-year-old children to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence. So, while an 18-year-old cannot bring alcohol on board, they can drink alcohol while on board in the presence of a parent or guardian if that parent or guardian signs the Beverage Consent Form.
I hope you have a magical Mediterranean cruise with
Disney Cruise Line. Join us here at planDisney if we can answer more of your questions or offer tips or recommendations. We are always happy to help you experience the most incredible Disney vacation possible.
Happy Sailing!
