Hi Jodi!
Welcome to planDisney! The
Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect vacation destination for family reunions and big groups. The parks just seem more magical when you share that magic with family and friends. Depending on your situation, there are a few different ways to go about getting
MagicBands or cards for your travel party so let’s talk about your options!
If your group is staying off-site and they just need a ticket card to enter the theme parks, you don’t need to have a My Disney Experience Account. Simply visit any ticket window or
Guest Relations outside a theme park or in Disney Springs with your ticket confirmation number and they will give you a physical ticket card. Your party members can use this card to enter the theme parks.
If you are staying at a
Disney Resort Collection Hotel, they can also skip My Disney Experience if they truly want to. Upon check-in, the front desk can issue them a Key to the World Card. This card can be used to open their resort room door, make room charges, and ticket media can also be linked to these cards. The front desk would be able to assist with this.
If your party would like MagicBands, to use the new
MagicMobile Service, or would like to try for a Boarding Group for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, they need to exist somewhere in a
My Disney Experience account. Any adults in the group can create their own My Disney Experience Accounts, and from there, they can link their ticket media. For those that don’t want to have their own account, they can be managed in someone else’s My Disney Experience Account. For example, my dad doesn’t want to have his own account, so my mom has an account and she has my dad added as someone she manages. Once everyone in your party exists in My Disney Experience, you would use the
Family & Friends tool to link so you can share plans. This would be needed for someone to try to secure a Boarding Group for Rise of the Resistance.
Once Guests exist in My Disney Experience, they can purchase MagicBands if they like. Guests staying at Disney Resort Collection Hotels can pre-order MagicBands with a discount and they will be automagically linked. Those staying off-site can purchase MagicBands in advance from
shopDisney or they can purchase them at a gift shop upon arrival, and then link those bands in My Disney Experience.
You’ll have to chat with your group and decide which option works best for each person. But I hope this gives you an idea of where to start!
Have a Magical Day!
