We have 4 people in our family and really appreciate having a split bathroom. From what I can see PP standard rooms are all non-split. Disneyland Hotel seems to have both. Is there a way to guarantee a split bathroom when booking? Otherwise we can do GC

    Howdy Christopher!

Welcome back to planDisney! We're happy to see you here again and I'm thrilled that you brought us a question about the Disneyland Resort this time! There's just something special about this being Walt's original Park and I still glance up at the lit lamp in the window of the Firehouse to say a silent "thank you" to Walt Disney before I leave Disneyland Park for the night.

It's wonderful that you're going to be booking your stay at an official Disneyland Resort Hotel for your vacation! I also have a family of four, so I completely understand the utility of having a split bathroom so you can all get ready as quickly as possible to make Rope Drop! From my research, it does sound like Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel does not offer split bathrooms. I then connected with a Cast Member at Reservations and asked about how best to secure a room with a split bathroom for your stay.

This Cast Member contacted each of the hotels and stated that, unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee that you are booked into a room with a split bathroom because each hotel's room configuration is so different. However, she recommended that you state your preference for a split bathroom in the online form when you book your reservation. In addition, she relayed a tip from her hotel contact to call the Resort 10 days before your arrival to specifically request to be placed in a room with a split bathroom. That way, your request will be officially logged with them and they'll do their best to honor it!

Even though Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel might be off your list for this trip, it will soon be transformed into something even more magical when it is re-imagined into the Pixar Place Hotel later this year! In fact, this property was originally built to support the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and wasn't purchased by Disney until 1995, so it's gone through quite a number of transformations. With the new rebrand and the recent addition of its own walkway and entrance into Disney California Adventure, I think it will be a wonderful hotel to consider for a future Disneyland Resort vacation!

Christoper, I wish I could have been of more assistance for you but you can't go wrong with either the Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. I certainly hope that you and your family have fun planning your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! If there is anything more that we at planDisney can do for you, please feel free to write back to me or any of my pals on the panel!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
