Greetings, John Pat.
Higitus figitus migitus mum, I’m so glad to planDisney you’ve come! Thankfully, Madam Mim lost the Wizard’s Duel that would have kept you from finding us today, so I’m happy to help.
The Sword in the Stone is my all-time favorite Disney movie, John Pat, so, naturally, I loved helping Merlin defend
Magic Kingdom Park from all of the villains in Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. In fact, I still have my cards stashed away for safekeeping. I know that I need to pull an Elsa and “let it go” now that the game has left Walt Disney World Resort, but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them. I wish I could say that Guests and Cast Members are still trading cards at the firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A., but that no longer takes place. Perhaps you could turn your cards into ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree or turn them into a collage that you frame.
John Pat, I know that’s not the news you were hoping for, so I’ve come up with a few options you could try in place of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom to start a new collection with.
- A Pirate's Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas is an interactive scavenger hunt to collect secret treasure throughout Adventureland. When you finish a mission, you’ll receive a collectible treasure finder card and can even keep your treasure map.
- The Coin Press Machines throughout Walt Disney World Resort make for an affordable souvenir and come in a wide variety of unique designs themed to popular characters, attractions, and lands. I’ve seen other Disney fans turn their pressed penny collection into works of art through craft projects. My favorite was a framed Mickey shape made entirely of pressed pennies, but the possibilities are endless.
- When you use your MagicBand+ in the interactive Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters game, you’ll be “collecting” bounties throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Technically, there’s nothing tangible to take home with you, but the bragging rights that come with capturing your bounties are pretty special too. In fact, when you use the Play Disney Parks mobile app in tandem with your MagicBand+, you’ll earn unique achievements that are logged in the app for you.
I’m sorry I didn’t have better news to share, John Pat, but I hope I’ve piqued your interest with one of these alternatives. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
Pinfeathers and golly fluff,
Alyssa
