Hi Melissa,
Welcome to planDisney! I know I'm in the minority, but I actually LOVE budgeting and creating spreadsheets. My husband, who happens to be an accountant, will often look at my Disney-planning spreadsheets and say, "You should have been an accountant, too!" I'd be happy to share a couple Disney-budgeting tips!
While it is possible to
make payments on a
vacation package that includes theme park tickets and a Disney Resort hotel reservation, there's currently no option to make payments for
theme park tickets alone. The entire cost is due at the time of purchase. Hakuna Matata...no worries, though, as I have a couple suggestions for you. First, you could simply purchase one ticket at a time. The only potential problem with this self-made kind of payment plan is that it's not currently enough to have a theme park ticket;
Disney Park Pass reservations are also required for admission to the parks. You won't be able to make reservations without valid theme park tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account, though, so the danger is that by the time you purchase the last ticket,
availability will be limited or gone. If that feels too risky to you, you could also purchase
Disney Gift Cards each time you visit a store that offers cash back or loyalty rewards, then use those to pay for your tickets once you have enough saved.
I'm sending pixie dust that you find the perfect budgeting tool for your needs, and that all your Disney dreams can come true this
summer. Please come back and see us again if we can help with anything else, Melissa, and have a truly magical vacation!
Missy
