Welcome back, Julie!
There are so many amazing ports of call in the Caribbean that Disney's ships visit. You didn't mention which itinerary you'll be sailing, but no matter which ports you'll visit, I promise you're in for the vacation of your lives! Isn't it exciting that traveling with Disney Cruise Line means you get to go see the world and visit so many ports of call, but you return each evening to the comfort of your stateroom onboard the ship, and you only have to unpack once? It can't be beat!
My family and I have sailed many times in the Caribbean with Disney, and we haven't ever needed to exchange
currency for purchases in
Caribbean ports. Most, if not all, of these ports of call are happy to take American dollars for any purchases you make. Alternately, credit cards are widely accepted, so that makes it even easier. It's a good idea to have some cash with you though, because you'll stumble across some really cute small markets where only cash may be accepted, so it's good to be prepared.
Have you looked into Disney Cruise Line's
Port Adventures yet? My family and I always take at least one or two of Disney's adventures on our cruises because they take care of all of the details so we simply show up and enjoy the day. Oftentimes, lunch at a local establishment is included, which makes it even more convenient. Details about what is included in each individual adventure can be found on that particular adventure's page, so be sure to check out the Port Adventures in each of the ports you'll be visiting, Julie!
Have such fun!
Marcy
