Welcome to planDisney, DeAnn!
One of the things that I like best about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is the
wide variety of room types. You see, while my family of four could technically fit in a studio hotel room, our group needs just a bit more space to really feel well-rested. When my in-laws join us, we are now a party of 6 who really need some extra space.
If you are looking for value accommodations you will want to check out the family suites at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort and
Disney's All-Star Music Resort. These suites have a kitchenette with a mini-fridge and microwave, as well as two full bathrooms and three separate sleeping spaces, including a closed-off master bedroom.
If you are looking for a more luxurious experience, most of the
Deluxe Villa category of resorts offer studios as well as 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom units. Anything larger than a studio comes equipped with a full kitchen as well as has a washer and dryer in the unit, something that has been invaluable with my messy one-year-old.
DeAnn, to give you a few more options, you can book two standard hotel rooms and request connecting rooms! While requests for connecting rooms can not be guaranteed, I can tell you that the wonderful Cast Members will do everything they can to put you close to each other. On our last trip as a family of 6, this third option was a little more cost-effective.
Now DeAnn, the price per night for either the family suites or deluxe villa accommodations will vary widely based on the resort selected and time of year. What I suggest you do is play around with your dates on the
Walt Disney World Resort website. I recommend that you start by taking a look at the
Special Offers to see what great deals you can find! After you select your first room, you will be able to "Compare Offers" to price out different
vacation packages.
Happy Planning!
