Ahoy, Starlyn!
Thank you for sending in this excellent question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm a huge fan of using Disney Gift Cards when my family sets sail for our Disney Cruise Line adventures. I purchase individual gift cards at my local grocery store once we have a cruise booked, and it really does help me budget along the way. The
Disney Gift Card website allows you to mange your gift cards online and combine up to $1000.00 per card. I love being able to take just one card onboard to take care of our extra purchases. I always link my credit card when I complete the Online Check-in as my back up if my Disney Gift Cards don't cover the entire balance.
Starlyn, once you are onboard the ship, just stop by
Guest Services at any time prior to embarkation morning to have your Disney Gift Cards applied to your stateroom account (The last night is typically very busy so sooner than later is better!). You'll want to keep the card (I always place it in our stateroom safe just to be safe!) because any money not spent can be placed back on the original gift card. If you are sailing on the Disney Dream or the Disney Fantasy, you can check your account balance on your stateroom TV and by stopping by Guest Services for a paper copy. Paper copies are available at Guest Services on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.
We hope you'll cruise back over to "sea" us if we can assist you further with your plans. We always love to steer our Guests in the right direction!
Have a magical day!
Nancy
