Are passports required for disney wonder five night western cruise departing from miami on April 13, 2014? Two adults are traveling and two minors ages 6 and 15.

    Ahoy Sandra!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  A five-night Western sailing on the Disney Wonder will be a fabulous vacation for your crew as you enjoy letting Disney Cruise Line take care of everything!
You have an excellent question about passport requirements for cruise Guests, and I'm happy to fill you in on the current regulations.  For a closed loop cruise leaving Miami, birth certificates are acceptable.  With that being said, Disney Cruise Line strongly recommends all cruise Guests travel with passports.  The reason being is that air travel from foreign ports of call (Cozumel and Grand Cayman on your sailing) requires a valid passport.  If an unforeseen emergency occurs during your sailing, your passports will allow you to fly home.  My advice is to read over the Passport Information available on the Disney Cruise Line website so you can make the best decision for your family.
Thank you for stopping by with your question, Sandra!  If I can assist you further, please let me know!
    Have a magical day!
