We are a party of 15, staying in 3 villas at the Bay Lake Tower. We require 2 cribs and one high chair. How do I reserve those? And do you rent double strollers by the day? If so, how do I arrange for that?

    Hello Pam!

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you have quite an exciting trip planned for your large group. Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the perfect home base for a Walt Disney World Vacation, especially if you have lots of little ones in your party. You’ll be just a short walk from Magic Kingdom, and have convenient Monorail service to Epcot!

Disney does have high chairs and pack-n-plays available upon request. Before COVID-19 protocols, you would always find one of each in every Deluxe Villa, but for safety, they are currently by request only. You may either call and request one in advance, or you can request one in person upon arrival. Currently, you cannot request them online. There are enough of both high chairs and pack-n-plays that you won’t have to be worried that they will run out. The high chairs are the wooden style you typically see in restaurants. They work well for kiddos who can sit up but aren’t the best for tiny ones that need a lot of support. If you have a small one who needs more support, I would plan to hold the child in a lap for feeding.

If you are needing a regular style crib, those are also available upon request but are limited. They are larger than a pack-n-play but are not quite as large as a full-size crib. You can also call to request one in advance, but know that with limited quantities, requests cannot be guaranteed. There are off-site companies that offer rentals, but Disney does not partner with any of them, so you would need to select the best option for you if you went this route.

In terms of strollers, you have a few options. I always preferred to bring my stroller from home, so that we had it for use in the airport and while traveling. If you go this route, be sure that your stroller meets the size requirements for the theme parks. Be aware that wagons and stroller wagons are not allowed even if they meet the size requirements.

If you prefer to rent for your vacation, you can rent single and double strollers in the theme parks. You can do a length of stay rental and receive a small discount, or rent per day. Stroller rentals from Disney cannot be done in advance, and you’d want to visit the stroller rental desk to pay for your stroller on your first day in the theme parks. Do know that these strollers cannot be removed from the parks, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Another option, and the one I recommend, is to rent from an outside company. Disney’s preferred provider is ScooterBug - Orlando and I think this is a great way to go. You can set up and pay for your rental of a double stroller in advance. On the day of check-in, your stroller will be delivered to Bell Services at the resort. This would mean you could use it no matter where you went, and you wouldn’t be restricted to just using it inside the theme parks. When you depart, you leave the stroller with Bell Services, and ScooterBug will pick it up! I recommend something lightweight and easy to fold and carry onto a Disney bus. Our friends we traveled with this summer used ScooterBug and were very happy with the service.

I hope this helps with your planning, Pam! Please let us know what additional questions you have, we are here to help!
