We are a party of 7. We know that some of us will want to do two days at the park. We are going the beginning of February when traffic is expected to be low. Is it possible or likely that we could add another day a couple days before going?

Hi Mandi! Welcome to planDisney. February is such a wonderful time to visit, and it sounds like you’ve got a fantastic crew gearing up for a magical adventure at the Disneyland Resort. Let’s walk through how adding an extra day works and what you can expect during your early-February trip.

As long as theme park tickets and reservations are available, you’ll absolutely be able to add another day to your plans. The process is nice and simple: just call the Tickets line and let a Cast Member know you’d like to upgrade your tickets. They’ll take care of adding that additional day for you. One helpful thing to keep in mind is that the new ticket must be of equal or greater value than the one you’re upgrading from. And since theme park reservations are required, it’s always safest to make the call as soon as you're confident you want the extra day. While early February isn’t traditionally a high-traffic time, reservations can fluctuate, so securing your spot early is the best way to go.

Speaking of February, you’re visiting at a truly special time! Disney California Adventure will be celebrating Lunar New Year during your trip. Next year will mark the Year of the Horse, which means you’ll find beautifully themed décor, festive entertainment, and delicious treats throughout the celebration areas. In previous years, familiar Disney pals like Mickey and Minnie have appeared in outfits inspired by Korean traditions, and characters like Mulan, Mushu, and even friends from Turning Red have joined the festivities to wish Guests health, happiness, and prosperity.

One of the absolute highlights is Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession. Performers bring the route to life from Hollywood Land all the way to Paradise Gardens, filling the streets with music, movement, and color. Mulan and Mushu glide along on their gorgeous float, while other Disney friends join in to spread joy and celebration. It’s a vibrant, heartfelt experience, and I highly recommend catching a performance. If you can, pair it with a tasty bite from one of the Lunar New Year Marketplaces for an extra bit of seasonal magic.

I hope this helps you plan with confidence, Mandi. If you have any other questions about tickets, planning, or making the most of your February visit, we’re always here at planDisney.

    Wishing you a magical day,
    David
