We have a party of 7 (4kids ages 6,8,10&11) travling Aug 14-Aug 20. How should we pack for clothing? We are also celebrating our 9 year annv. and bringing grandma! What can we do for fun?

    Happy anniversary!

In August, WDW will be hot. You should expects highs in the 90s almost every day. For park touring you'll want shorts and t-shirts. And you'll definitely want to bring swimsuits. Even in the hottest weather, I always bring a sweater or light jacket in case I encounter an indoor spot that's over-airconditioned. Also, depending where you are dining in the evenings, you might need to bring one slightly more dressy outfit per person. The signature dining restaurants on property now have a "business casual" dress code. Search on the Moms Panel site using the words "dress code" and you'll find a list of these restaurants.

A great activity for your group might be seeing the Hoop de Doo Revue. This is a very relaxed dinner and show that is enjoyed by all ages. I've been several times and am actually taking a group very similar to yours there next week (parents, grandparents, kids ages 8-11). The food is great: fried chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, with beer and wine included in the price. The show is super silly  with lots of  corny jokes. There is also one section where they sing a special song for anniversary couples, which could be really nice for you.

Another fun thing to do might be to rent some surrey bikes at one of the hotels.  I can't really suggest a "race," but I bet you invent some fun competitions like kids vs. grownups or boys vs. girls to get a little spirit into your vacation.

One of our family traditions at WDW is that every trip we make sure to go to the Beaches and Cream Soda Shoppe at the Yacht and Beach Club resort. We always order the Kitchen Sink sundae. This colossal treat is served in a sink-shaped bowl. It includes about 20 scoops of ice cream, marshmallows, candy bars, brownies, bananas, cherries, sprinkles, three kinds of sauce, nuts, and an entire can of  cream topping. We always try to finish it, but never can. Good luck to your group in meeting the challenge.
