Can my party of five still be seated in a restaurant that is no longer taking advanced dinner reservations? Can I just show up at the restaurant and be seated? If so, generally how long is the wait?

Hi, James!  This is a bit tricky to answer, because there is always a chance that you will luck into a table at a restaurant that was no longer taking reservations.  There is always the possibility that someone will be a no-show, or they will have a last minute cancellation that results in an open table.  Some restaurants will tell you that just don't have any openings, others will offer to allow you to wait, but I expect that already know a table will be opening up within a reasonable amount of time that they can offer you.  No one wants to see hungry people waiting too long for a table!

I recommend that you continue to make daily phone calls to the Walt Disney World dining reservation line at 407-WDW-DINE, even up to the day you wish to dine at a particular restaurant.  Also, go as early as you can to the podium at the restaurant you wish to enjoy to see if they might have an open table later in the day.  We've had some success doing that at Crystal Palace.

I hope you are able to enjoy some of the wonderful Walt Disney World dining!  If the restaurant you want is unavailable, feel free to ask the reservations agent to make a suggestion about a restaurant that might be able to accommodate you.  We've been introduced to some excellent dining experiences this way!
