Keren,
You need help, and planDisney is here to save the day!
To begin with, feel free to send multiple questions to the panel as you plan your vacation. We are glad to help, and we have different panelists ready to weigh in on everything imaginable. Now to your questions.
Planning
My suggestion is that you tackle your planning in the following order.
- When do you want to go? Obviously, you will go when your personal schedule allows. But if you have some flexibility, know that it tends to be more crowded during the holidays and the US school summer vacation. It is a bit lighter during the months of September through mid-December, and then January through mid-April.
- How long do you want to visit? You are coming a long way to visit, so you likely will want to stay for more than a day or two. Just know how many days, so you can plan accordingly. My suggestion, if your budget and schedule allow, is for 6 days, not including arrival and departure days. That gives you 2 days in the Magic Kingdom, 1 day at each of the other parks, and one non-park day to relax and enjoy your resort.
- Where do you plan to stay? When considering where to stay, and looking at vacation packages, I always recommend you consider at least one preferred resort in each major category. Those are Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Then you can figure out which meets your budget. If you are not sure which to pick in each group, then look at the planDisney Pocket Guides for a nice overview.
That should give you a good start. After you have all that sorted out, you can start thinking about what park to visit on which day, where to eat, and what else you want to do. Also, I recommend that you start your planning at StartYourDisneyExperience.com.
How many days at the Magic Kingdom?
As suggested above, I tell friends to plan 2 days at the Magic Kingdom Park for every day each at the other parks. So if you have 5 park days, I would visit the Magic Kingdom twice and each of the other parks once.
Is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party scary?
No, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is not scary. It is a wonderful party, just with Halloween decorations and activities like trick-or-treating. My youngest daughter went her first time when she was almost 3, and she loved it!
Now you have some ideas of where to begin. Once you have some initial plans ready, come back and ask the panel, and we can help you along your way!
Have a Magical Vacation!
