Hi! We are a party of 5 (3 adults w/ 2 children age 3 and 6)attending this summer staying at SOG. Trip’s for Gma’s 50th Birthday. Any suggestions for Magical Experience outside Parks in case we do not get Park Reservations. Thanks!

    Hi Jill!

What a magical way to celebrate such a milestone birthday! Any Disney World day is the PERFECT day but a family celebration like this will really be pure Magic!

    Disney Springs
is your answer! There is so much to see and do that I do not doubt that you'll find something for everyone to enjoy. While you'll want to keep an eye on the current reopenings and operational updates, I'm hopeful that you'll find plenty to do. Disney Springs is currently in a phased reopening, so there are already lots of dining, shopping, and fun experiences open and ready to include in your day.

A great day may go something like this: Sleep in! Enjoy a leisurely morning (if you can, with little ones!) at your resort. Grab a quick bite to eat or enjoy the resort's amenities. Then, hop on the Disney Bus Transportation to Disney Springs for a bit of shopping at the Marketplace Co-Op. Maybe you'll even find a surprise for the birthday girl in their unique offerings. I never miss a chance to stop at Disney Tails. After a bit of retail fun, you can take to the skies! One of our family's favorite unique and thrilling experiences is a trip into the skies on a hot air balloon. Aerophile - The World Leader in Balloon Flight will lift you on a tethered voyage into the skies. When skies are clear, you can see for miles!

Of course, no Disney Springs day is complete without a wonderful meal. There are so many options to choose from that I can't pick just one! Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' never disappoints. The Rise n' Shine Brunch  (currently served until 2pm - don't let the name fool you!) makes my mouth water by just thinking about it. Morimoto Asia is another outstanding choice.  The restaurant is beautiful and the Pan-Asian cuisine is amazing. Of course, if you'd like to play it by ear, there are plenty of options that do not require reservations. Some of my favorite meals have been at D-Luxe Burger, The Polite Pig, and Earl of Sandwich. For dessert, don't forget about the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop.

I hope some of these ideas help you plan the perfect birthday celebration! Please wish her a Happy Birthday from everyone here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
