Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Terese! Beloved by both the young and the young-at-heart, Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place for a multi-generational family vacation! I'm happy to give you a few tips to help make your next visit extra magical.
Traveling with grandparents creates special memories; I still fondly remember my very first trip with mine. What can be challenging, however, is that not everyone manages the theme parks at the same pace. I think you are very wise to anticipate this in advance, and know that for some guests in your traveling party, it will be best to avoid the midday heat (between noon and 4:00 PM). I suggest contacting Kid's Nite Out at (800) 696-8105. Although they are primarily known for their in-room Babysitting Services, they also offer Companion Care Services. Just keep in mind that transportation cannot be by private vehicle. Shuttle, chartered transportation, taxi, or
Walt Disney World transportation service is acceptable. Also, the theme parks do not allow the caregivers to enter for free, and they would need a ticket purchased for their admittance.
Electric Conveyance Vehicles (also known as ECVs or scooters) are another excellent option for those guests who have mobility issues, or who tire easily. Disney recently partnered with ScooterBug, which is a local private mobility rental company. Since ScooterBug is considered a Disney Featured Provider, guests can arrange to have their ECVs dropped off and picked up at their Walt Disney World Resort hotel. For more information, visit scooterbug.com/orlando or call (800) 726-8284.
Here's a Moms Panel tip: For many guests, a multi-generational trip to Walt Disney World is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Make sure to commemorate your "picture perfect" vacation by purchasing
Memory Maker, so that you'll be able to view, share, and download all your
PhotoPass photos. The
My Disney Experience Mobile App also allows anyone who is connected to your
Family & Friends list to view your photos.
I hope you have a fantastic time at your family reunion this summer, Terese! See ya' real soon!
